W. Lim Bottom Drains

The W. Lim Bottom Drain is designed with a full sweeping bottom to help prevent waste from getting stuck in the drain. It can be easily installed on concrete ponds or liner ponds. The W. Lim Bottom Drain also comes with an anti - vortex drain cover for bottom sweeping action. The drain has a 10" opening that slopes down to a 3" or 4" pipe opening.
We apologize, but we are no longer carrying these bottom drains.  If you would like a great bottom drain, check out the Tetra Bottom Drains or the 4" Bottom Drain.

HOW TO INSTALL THE W. LIM BOTTOM DRAIN ON A PRE-FORMED POND
PRE-DRILL:

  1. On the Bottom Drain cover, there are 3 screw holes marks. Drill the holes to fit the 1/4” PHIC Flat screws.
  2.  Turn the cover over. Align the BDR ring on top of the 3 newly-drilled holes (ring should have the ring’s 16 hole marks

.....facing up) and drill the 3 holes through the ring, making sure the new holes do not cut through the 16 hole marks.

PROCESS:

  1. Put the ring in the most bottom (deepest) part of the pre-formed pond. Use a marker to draw two circles: one on the outside edge of the ring and the other on the inside ring.
  2. Remove the ring. Drill and cut around the inside circle to make a hole to fit the mouth of the Bottom Drain.
  3. Place the ring above the hole of the pond. Insert the three 1/4” PHIC screws facing up from under the ring. Secure with one nut, and put another nut on the screw. You will use the third nut to install the cover later.
  4. Underneath the pond, put the Bottom Drain right under the hole. Bolt the 16 Self Tapping screws from the ring, through the pond onto the Bottom Drain.
  5. Use a gasket and/or silicone between the ring and the pond to seal tightly.
  6. Before installing the cover, adjust the second nut to leave only a little space (1/2” more or less) this is to prevent the smallest fish from getting sucked into the bottom drain. Bolt the cover with the third nut.
