Dosing For New Ponds

For new application, Thrive Koi Clay is to be dosed at 1 level scoop (provided) or tablespoons per 1,000 gallons of pond water every other day for three weeks. Then Thrive Koi Clay should be dosed at the weekly recommended dosing below.

Weekly maintenance dosing for Thrive Koi Clay is 1 level scoop (provided) or tablespoon per each 1,000 gallons of pond water each week.

Do I Need To Dose As Recommended?

Dosing can vary from pond to pond. We do suggest the above dosing for ponds with adequate filtration and a reasonable fish stocking level. For ponds that are over-stocked with fish, you will want to double the weekly dose. You will also want to double the dose for ponds with inadequate filtration.

Can I Overdose My Pond With Thrive Koi Clay?

Thrive Koi Clay is a very safe product that cannot be overdosed.  The only ill effect that dosing very heavy can have on your pond is that you can get too much settling of the clay on the bottom of the pond. Also, dosing in very heavy amounts can cause clogging of your filter pads.  What is very heavy dosing?  When we say very heavy dosing, we are talking about 25 times or higher than the recommended dosing amounts of Thrive Koi Clay. So dosing two or three times over the recommended dosing will not adversely affect your pond.
